It's tricky times for everyone so we've started to join the coalition of seamstresses everywhere by sewing masks!
Our three layer face mask is made of:
The elastic ear bands are secured by a pocket instead of sewn. This way you can adjust the elastic by tying it tighter or replace it with ribbon for a tie behind the head version.
Homemade masks are great to replace bandanas or can be added on top of N-95 masks to help them last longer.
These masks are not FDA-cleared. Please note these are not a replacement for medical grade N95 masks or PPE, but are meant for general public use. Masks do not replace or reduce the necessity to practice social distancing in the fight against COVID-19.
It's not just hospitals that need face masks. The CDC has recommended everyone wear a face covering whenever you're in public. Healthcare workers in other facilities like nursing homes and urgent care centers are also dealing with mask shortages while working with COVID-19 patients. Non-healthcare workers like veterinarians and firefighters are left without face masks and have said they would accept homemade versions.
1 mask donated for every mask purchased.
